Have you ever felt that you got into a corner and could not get out? Let me tell you a short story. In the Book of Exodus in the Bible, chapter 14, we read about the Lord's people, the nation of Israel, leaving Egypt, where they had been for 430 years. The king of Egypt did not want to let them go, but God had brought 10 plagues on the Egyptians until he was willing to let them go. In Exodus 14:1-2 we read that God led them to a place so that the king of Egypt would think that they were stuck in the wilderness. The Red Sea was ahead of they. So the king and his army went after them. This all looked overwhelming to the people of God, but God had Moses, Israel's leader, stretch his rod over the Red Sea and it parted and God's people went across on dry land. When the Egyptians followed them, God took off the wheels of the chariots and disrupted them and then the Lord left the Red Sea close on them. The people of God were safe and the power of God was shown.
Have you ever gotten into a corner were you did not know where to turn? A corner because you were following Christ? Christians have the promise of God that he will not leave them or forsake them. God wants to show himself strong on behalf of his children. But he wants the glory and he wants us to know that it is he and not we. It says in 2Ch 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
God lets us get in a corner sometimes, even in our obedience to him. Let's see that God wants to do great things in our lives .
