Have you ever heard the saying, Seeing is believing, or I'll believe it when I see it?
Today we hear a lot of taking control of your own life. Take control of your future. Mankind is seemingly bent on managing their own affairs without God. It seems that a lot of people want to have scientific proof of everything. They want to bring all things into their grasp. The essence of it all is that many want to be their own god. Pity the person that has a god that is no greater than they are. A god that has the same confines as they have. A god that they can see. A god that, well, they can control.
The Bible says in Heb 11:6* But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Friend, if we know everything, understand everything, and have it all in control, what need is there for faith.
I am so glad that I can have faith in the God of heaven and earth. It is not my faith that has the power, but the God in whom I have faith. The Bible says he is the creator, the almighty, the everlasting, the all knowing. He is the sustainer of life. He gives life to all men. In Hebrews 1:3 we read that he is upholding all things by the word of his power.
Once I was a salesman for a lubricant company. It was a good company with a good product, but once their incentive for sales was a cruise on a ship called the Sovereign of the Seas.
God is the sovereign of the universe and he is the sovereign of the seas. In Him I have put my faith and trust.
We might ask why all the bad. Friend, He and we have an enemy. The enemy is the Devil and his entire regime. If God were to bring final judgement on the enemy, the end would come. In His love and mercy, he is longsuffering and waiting for more to put their faith and trust in Him. But there is coming a day that God will draw the curtains of time and His sovereignty will be known by all men and women. We need to repent of our sin and rebellion against the Sovereign God. We need to receive Jesus Christ as our savior. Our savior from what we rightly deserve as sinners. This means that we understand that it was Jesus satisfied God's justice on our sin when he died on the cross and the only reason we can be forgiven is on Jesus' merits and not ours.
I encourage you to acknowledge Jesus Christ as your savior through repentance of sin if you have not done so. He will release you from your guilt and save you. Praise the Lord.
