Worship Services

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord,
If you are looking for a place to meet God, to grow spiritually, or to find comfort, we encourage you to visit or contact us.
Our goal at Goshen Mennonite Church is to Believe the Word of God, Teach the Word of God, and to Live the Word of God.
To live a Godly life, means we use the Bible (Scriptures) as our standard, adapting culture to fit the Scriptures, and not adapting Scripture to fit the culture. We believe there is a heaven to be gained and a hell to be shunned.
The only way to heaven according to John 14:6 is through Jesus Christ. This is through the acknowledgement of our personal sin, repentance of our sin, and redemption from our sin through the saving and atoning work of Jesus Christ, making Him Lord of our life, and living in obedience to His Word, the Bible.
We invite and welcome you to worship our risen Saviour with us.

A Message From Retired Pastor Ezra Maust

“The Power Of Prayer”

Prayer is an intimate conversation with God. An intercourse in direct address to Him and from Him. Prayer can be done in various forms. It can be done in any posture, spoken or silent. All miracles in the Bible were preformed out of an existing problem. The greater the problem, the greater the solution.

I believe there are three elements of understanding the power of prayer.

·         Pray to the right person.

·         Pray with a clean heart.

·         Pray with faith.

I.        Pray to the right person.

If we want to get results from prayer, we need to be praying to a living God. There is only one true God. That is Jehovah God, the Creator, the Father of Jesus Christ. All other god’s are false and have no power other then what Jehovah God allows them to have.  In Exodus God told the children of Israel  “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”  Exodus 3:14 He is the eternal and ever existing God.  It is only through Jesus Christ, that we can come to Jehovah God. John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

II.      Pray with a clean heart.

If we expect to have a continual and effective prayer life, we need to come to God with a recognition of our sinfulness, repenting of our sin, and then living a Godly life in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Psalmist is a good example of this. (NKJ) Psalm 139:23-24  Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; [24] And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 51:10  Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear. 1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

III.    Pray with faith.

Without faith, we will not comprehend the greatness and the power of almighty God. We can find some instruction in (NKJ) Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Prayer is commanded in the Bible. Romans 12:12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; Philip. 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Col. 4:2  Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;  James 5:15-16  And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. [16] Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 1 Peter 4:7   But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

A good book to read on this subject is “Prayer, The Great Adventure” by David Jeramiah.

God bless each one, may we be faithful, may we be prepared for His return. He is Coming again!

All are invited to come and worship with us.
